John and Dee, while spreading the joy of Christmas as Santa and Mrs. Claus, make sure to also spread the reason for this season. That reason is the gift of God’s son, Jesus Christ, on whose birthday we give gifts. Gift giving is a way of passing on the love that God gives us and sent His Son to show us that perfect way to give, as He gave His life for us. Don’t forget this reason because Santa and Mrs. Claus give because Jesus gave.
Santa Claus has his true beginning as Bishop St. Nicholas of Myra, who was born in the 3rd century in the village of Patara in Asia Minor, which is now Turkey. St. Nicholas was known to protect those in need and also provide for those who could not provide for themselves in the form of gifts.
St. Nicholas says about his giving: And once I gave something away, I never stood around watching to make sure that the person used it wisely. “Once you give a gift, let it go.” I say, “It’s no longer yours, so go and tend to your own business.”
